The colors in Chinese

The printable is suitable for beginners or teachers. It allows you to draw the attention to the specific chinese character and connect it to the related color.

I suggest starting with 白 and 黑, as they are simple and suitable for commencing the lesson. Note that the character for black (黑) has the "fire root" in itself. This is helpful as it aids the learner to connect ‘burning' with the color black (charcoal)

Then you can proceed with 棕 and 橙, as they both have the "tree root" in them. It makes sense that brown (棕) has this tree root in itself. As per orange (橙色), we can either propose that the orange can also be a fruit, hence - orange tree, or ask the learner how they will remember it.

蓝 and 黄 both have the (grass root) in their construction. The only connection is that blue (蓝）+yellow (黄） =green grass

红 and 绿 both have "silk root" in their composition. They are simple and we can ask the students to try and remember red (红 ) silk dress and green(绿 ) silk tie.
